Business in the Community

​For the past number of years St Tiernan’s Community School, in conjunction with Business in the Community, has been involved in the Skills @ Work programme. This programme provides students with insight into the world of work in a very real and practical manner.

Our current partnership is with Zurich Insurance Company and in the past we have been partnered with Google and Microsoft. The programme is run in sessions and guest speakers give the students a valuable insight into the working world. In the programme students are involved in team building skills, curriculum vitae preparation, mock interviews and presentation skills.

Students who have participated in this programme in the past report learning real life skills and find that it is very useful for confidence building and promoting a positive attitude for work.
